Whether you want maximum heat rejection or the best bang for your buck, we've got a film for it — cut and fitted by hand for a clean, long-lasting finish.

Ceramic Tint Premium

  • Blocks 99% of harmful UV
  • Signal-safe — no phone/GPS interference
  • Won't fade, bubble or turn purple

Carbon Tint Value

That deep, matte, non-reflective factory look with plenty of UV and glare control — a smart choice when you want a sharp result without stretching the budget.

Tint darkness & VIC law

Tint is measured in VLT — the lower the number, the darker the film. Here's the quick guide and the Victorian rules we keep you legal within.

35% VLT

Light–medium

The legal limit for front side windows in Victoria. Cuts glare and heat while staying clearly legal.

20% VLT

Dark

A popular, sharp look for rear side windows and the rear windscreen. Great privacy and heat control.

5% VLT

Limo — darkest

Maximum privacy for rear glass. Perfect for utes, vans and 4WDs. Not legal on front side windows.

The Victorian rules, simply

Front side windows must let through at least 35% of light. Rear side windows and the rear windscreen can go darker — down to 20% and beyond on many vehicles. The front windscreen can only have a tinted visor strip along the top. We only fit road-legal tint to your front windows.

Extras & add-ons

Finishing touches

Windscreen sun strip

A tinted band across the top of your windscreen to knock back low sun and finish the look.

Sunroof & single windows

Tint your sunroof or replace a single scratched window without redoing the whole car.

Old tint removal

Bubbling, purple or peeling film? We strip it cleanly, remove all adhesive and re-tint with fresh film.

We come to you

Mobile tinting at your home or work

Can't get the car to the studio? We'll bring the job to you. Mobile service is available in selected areas across Melbourne's north — here's what we need to give you the same flawless finish.

Selected areas

Mobile installs are available within selected areas around Kalkallo and Melbourne's northern suburbs. Depending on the distance, a small travel fee may apply — we'll always confirm it with your quote, before anything is booked in.

Room to work

We'll need safe, level access to the vehicle with enough clear space around it to open every door and work all four sides comfortably. A standard garage or driveway bay is plenty.

Clean & sheltered

Film has to be fitted in a clean, dry, undercover space — a garage, carport or covered driveway is ideal. Dust, wind and rain are the enemies of a perfect finish, so we're not able to tint out in the open.

Not sure whether you're in range, or whether your space will suit? Send us your suburb and we'll let you know — get a free quote, or book the car in at the Kalkallo studio instead.

Fair, fixed pricing

Every car's different — so is every quote

Price depends on your vehicle, how many windows and the film you choose. You'll get one clear fixed price up front — no hidden extras. Send your details for a fast, free quote.

Tinting FAQs

Is 20% or 35% tint darker?

The percentage is how much light the film lets through (VLT), so a lower number is darker. 20% is darker than 35%, and 5% (limo) is the darkest. In Victoria, front side windows must let through at least 35% of light.

What's the darkest legal tint in Victoria?

For passenger cars, front side windows must be 35% VLT or lighter. Rear side windows and the rear windscreen can be darker — commonly 20%, and as dark as 5% on many vehicles.

Ceramic or carbon — which should I get?

If you want the coolest cabin and the best heat rejection, go ceramic. If you want a sharp matte look and great UV protection at a friendlier price, carbon is excellent. Not sure? Tell us your car and budget and we'll recommend the right one.

Do you come to me?

Yes — mobile service is available in selected areas across Melbourne's north. A small travel fee may apply depending on the distance, and we'll confirm that with your quote up front. All we ask is safe access to the car and a clean, sheltered spot to work in, such as a garage, carport or covered driveway. If that's not possible, you're welcome to book the car in at the Kalkallo studio instead.

How long does it take?

Most cars are done in around 2–3 hours depending on the vehicle and number of windows.

When can I wind my windows down?

Leave them up for 3–5 days so the film can fully cure. A little haze or tiny water pockets are normal at first and disappear as it dries.
